“Put feet under your faith.” I hadn’t heard that phrase since the late 1970’s. It’s a phrase that we used when we discussed putting our faith in action, to reach out to those less fortunate and offer a helping hand. In this podcast Tony asks, “You can talk the talk, can you walk the talk?”
Scripture: For, I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me. Then the righteous will answer him and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’ And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’ —Matthew 25:35-40
“For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.” — Mark 10:45
“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace. –1 Peter 4:10
Quote: “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” –Mahatma Gandhi
Reflection: How are you walking your talk? Are you putting you faith into action? What can you do to put your talents to work for the betterment of others?
