FMWT-096 Who Are You?
Wednesday Jun 26, 2019
Wednesday Jun 26, 2019
Have you ever asked yourself the question, “Who am I?” What are the things that most define my personal identity? What are my talents, passions, and strengths? In this podcast, Tony discusses who you really are.
Scripture: But you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce the praises” of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. –1 Peter 2:9
For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them. –Ephesians 2:10
Exercise: Here is an exercise to try.
- Make a list of all the things that define you both externally and internally.
- Eliminate anything that is negative from your list.
- Scratch off the list those external things that might change in the future.
- Look at what is left and ask the question, “What remains on my list that really defines me?”
Reflection: Have you tried Tony’s idea on discovering the real you? Do you like hat person better than the one you portray? What can you do to live the person you really are?

FMWT-095 Rush To Judgement
Sunday Jun 23, 2019
Sunday Jun 23, 2019
The news headlines are full of accusations, judgments, and jumped-to conclusions. Innocent until proven guilty has been replaced by the court of popular opinion. In this podcast Tony discusses rushing to judge others.
Quotes: It’s easy to look at people and make quick judgments about them, their present and their past, but you would be amazed at the pain and tears a single smile hides. What a person shows to the world is only one tiny facet of the iceberg hidden from sight. And more often than not it’s lined with cracks and scars that go all the way to the foundation of their soul. Never judge, learn to respect and acknowledge the feelings of others. — Sherrilyn Kenyon, Acheron
“You know my name but not my story. You’ve heard what I’ve done not what I have been through. Go ahead judge me, but you will never understand me until you’ve walked a mile in my shoes, and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.” –Anonymous
“We can never judge the lives of others, because each person knows only their own pain and renunciation. It’s one thing to feel that you are on the right path, but it’s another to think that yours is the only path.” — Paulo Coelho
Reflections: Are you quick to judge? Do you find that you are gossiping more? Do you ever consider walking a mile in someone else’s shoes?

FMWT-130 On Father's Day
Sunday Jun 16, 2019
Sunday Jun 16, 2019
Father’s Day; it is the one day each year that we honor fathers, a day to tell dad just how much he means to us. But, it is a shame that over 24 million kids, one in three children, growing up in the United States today, have no father present in the household to honor. In this podcast, Tony discusses the Father crisis in America.
Quote: People “look at a child in need, in poverty or failing in school, and ask, ‘What can we do to help?’ But what we do is ask, ‘Why does that child need help in the first place?’ And the answer is often it’s because [the child lacks] a responsible and involved father.” –Vincent DeCaro
Tony’s Prayer: Heavenly Father,
…Help me to become a better father.
…Make the way I treat their mother be a model for their future relationships.
…May I find quality time to spend with my children and understand that “any time” is better than waiting for the “right time.”
…May I nurture and guide my children, passing along my faith by making God, church, and service to others, a priority.
…Lord, give me the ability to provide for my wife and children and protect them for any harm.
…And, may my kids look at me as a shining example of God’s love, that one day they will say, “I want to be just like dad!”
Amen.
Reflections: How do your kids view your relationship with their mother? What do you think of Tony’s comment that kids spell father T-I-M-E? Do you view yourself as a role model?

FMWT-094 What Defines Character
Wednesday Jun 12, 2019
Wednesday Jun 12, 2019
The dictionary defines character as the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. It’s our defining presence, honed by our actions, integrity, honesty, and the choices we make. Our character is one of the few things in life that can’t be taken away from us. In this podcast Tony discusses Character.
Scripture: “You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father. –Matthew 5:13-16
Be diligent in these matters, be absorbed in them, so that your progress may be evident to everyone. –1 Timothy 4:15
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

FMWT-093 Called to Evangelize
Wednesday Jun 05, 2019
Wednesday Jun 05, 2019
As Christians, as Catholics, we are called to witness. We are called to share our faith with the people around us. So why is evangelization so hard for most Christians? Why are we so afraid to share our beautiful faith with others? In this pod cast Tony discusses the call to evangelize.
Scripture: “Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, but do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame.” –1 Peter 3:15-16
For, I am not ashamed of the gospel. It is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. -–Romans 1:16
Quotes: “Sometimes I ask myself, “Do I have the courage to do the right thing when it matters most?” And that answer, I’m afraid, is silence.” ― Jarod Kintz
Reflections: Are you reluctant to discuss Jesus for fear of offending someone? Is evangelization something you take seriously? Do you leave evangelization to others more qualified?
